Championship Golf Courses

Established in 1972, the two 18-hole Championship golf courses at the Stoke by Nayland Golf Club are set in some of Suffolk’s most picturesque countryside. The Club enjoys a superb reputation and is a regular venue for prestigious Pro-Ams, County, National and International Championships, as well as corporate golfing events. Stoke by Nayland's international profile has been raised by the worldwide television coverage of its prestigious PGA European Senior Tour events as well as the PGA Europro Tour and European Challenge Tour.

As our luxurious Stoke by Nayland Country Lodges overlook one of the courses, they’re perfect for a golf break – just imagine waking up on a hazy summer morning, having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony of your luxury Lodge and taking a short stroll down to the Clubhouse. Or perhaps you’re not a morning person, and so prefer a later slot – no problem, you can spend the maximum amount of time relaxing in your private Lodge, and nip down to the Clubhouse in just 10 minutes’ walk. Whatever your tee time preferences, simply ask your personal porter, who will book them for you.

Also, thanks to all the other facilities and things to see and do in the area, our Country Lodges are ideal if only some members of your party want to play golf – the Peake Spa & Fitness centre offers an indoor pool, Technogym, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, aerobics studio and a squash court, while the ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ around the Lodges offers some lovely countryside walks. Alternatively, of course, there’s a myriad of local attractions, towns and villages to explore.

Of course, if your party includes non-golfers who’d like to give the sport a try – or beginners simply not ready to get out onto the course yet – then Roly Hitchcock and his team of PGA Professionals are on hand with expert golf tuition down at our driving range. As we offer individual lessons for all ages and abilities, you might consider a coaching session even if you’re a seasoned player, to help perfect your swing or improve the accuracy of your putting.
